Another card class come and gone
Whew! What a great class! We had such a great time stamping these cards.
Every now and then something happens and you need a sympathy card. We used the Thoughts & Prayers (Wood) set for a nice image and sentiment and the Deco Labels Framelits dies to cut them out.
See ya later, Alligator! This cute card is made with three shades of green, embossed with chevrons, for a nice ombre effect. Come back later for a tutorial on how I did it! The stamp set is one of the free gifts you can get with any $50 purchase made during Sale-A-Bration, which goes from Jan. 28th through March 31.
This card sure made me happy! Not only do I love gray and yellow (shocker, huh?), but the card uses part of the song we sang to our oldest when she was a baby. Paired with polka dot embossing and clouds made with the Cupcake punch, it doesn't get much cuter!
This pretty birthday card features banners, great colors and patterns, and a sweet message from the Another Great Year (Wood) set that just released in the Occasions catalog. I just love that Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffle Ribbon, don't you?
Be sure to check in next month for our latest card class projects! Class is Feb. 24 & 25 if you want to join us!
Happy Stamping!

Faux Petina Technique
I learned this great technique and just had to share it with you! It is so gorgeous! I love the different colors blended together...
...and the flecks of gold kissing the embossed details. How elegant! So, how do you create the Faux Petina look?
First ink up your brayer with Crumb Cake ink, then roll it onto the upper half (the side with the logo on it) of your Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder. If you don't have a brayer (like me!), you can just rub and pat your ink pad directly onto your folder.
Then put your Whisper White or Very Vanilla card stock inside and run it through your Big Shot. Don't worry about your embossing folder, it comes completely clean with just a quick rinse. Even if you leave the ink on for a few days (like somebody you know *cough cough*).
Next, you sponge Marina Mist over the whole thing (it will look more blue than it does in the pic)......
then lightly with Early Espresso. That last round of sponging really transforms it!
The last step is the heat embossing. Take your Versamark pad and VERY lightly brush it over your beautiful card stock. Sprinkle your gold embossing powder on it (I brush off the excess, or spots that shouldn't have it, with a paintbrush), then heat set with your Heat Tool.
There is your beautiful Faux Petina! To see the blog I learned this from, or to see more colors used, click here! On the completed card I use the ever wonderful From My Heart set, Labels Collection Framelits Dies, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Aqua Painter, Pearls Jewels, Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, Early Espresso Card Stock & Raspberry Ripple Ink in addition to the needed items used in the technique.
Thanks for stopping by & Happy Stamping!
