Ft Worth Presenter Round Up Customer Edition!

Hello, Stampers! Thanks for stopping here in our blog hop! I hope you've been enjoying the samples we made for our presentations the Ft Worth OnStage event. Every six months Stampin' Up! plans this event for all the demonstrators to attend, and actually have selected demonstrators present brand new items from a yet to be revealed catalog. This time it was the new annual catalog and we were in for some fun surprises!

I had so much fun showing off the Sea of Textures stamp set and Under the Sea dies. You can get the stamp and dies separately or bundled together to save 10%. The stamps are in wood mount or clear mount, and a few of the dies cut out stamped images while others are individual shapes that don't have a stamp. To be honest, I'm not an ocean person, but I loved how easy this stamp set was to use! It makes some really cute stuff, and is perfect for those that love ocean adventures. And you'll be humming "Under the Sea"  from The Little Mermaid the entire time, so it's a win win! 

So, without further ado, the projects!

This first one uses the NEW Balmy Blue cardstcok and ink to stamp the texture and greeting, and Crumb Cake to sponge the edges of the Very Vanilla sand dollars, 1/2" banner, and embossed stripes. The net-like die adds some fun texture and focus. You can save the cut outs for confetti! Add a few pearls and its done! Easy-peasy!

This one is fun and involves some fussy cutting, but don't worry, it doesn't take long. First I stamped the scaly texture in Soft Sea Foam all over the Balmy Blue and Very Vanilla cardstock, stamping off before stamping onto the cardstock each time so it wasn't too dark. I stamped the sea weed along the bottom in the returning Mossy Meadow ink, stamping three or four times to lighten to color, and the large coral stamp in Balmy Blue. I loved the punny greeting with the octopus! By die cutting the circle only part of the way and fussy cutting the tentacles afterward you can really have him reaching out!  The twine is actually our Burlap Ribbon separated into individual strands with each card getting five strands. You can get more than one card made from each length of ribbon you cut, and it's a great way to use the Burlap Ribbon!

One of the things I like to do is find ways to make flowers out of things that weren't really designed to be flowers, so when I saw the inside of the sand dollar die I instantly thought of flowers. I cut 6 for each flower from Balmy Blue cardstock, and since you only need the center you can use very small pieces to die cut, making it a great way you use up scraps. The Layering Squares and Stitched Shapes Framelits are used for the frame, and Ruffles embossing folder on the NEW Soft Sea Foam cardstock.

Here's another flower! This one is fun and spiky, and it really stands up! To make this I used the 1 1/4" Circle punch and 15 of the large coral die cuts in Balmy Blue. The first and second layers have four corals each, the third layer has three, the second has two with slits cut to make it overlap and curl up, and the fourth and final has two overlapping and rolled up tight with part of the bottom cut off to make it into a center. I glued the center on with Tombow Liquid Glue, and you can use your favorite leaf punch or die to add leaves. The netting stamp is just perfect stamped onto the Soft Sea Foam cardstock before it is layered onto Mossy Meadow. The greeting is made with the Everyday Label punch on a 1" strip of Very Vanilla.

I just had to do a shaker card. One of the dies cuts out 20 tiny fish, which is just perfect for this! I stamped two large coral onto Balmy Blue cardstock  in Calypso Coral ink and the octopus in Balmy Blue ink. The netting is stamped on the Soft Sea Foam cardstock in Soft Sea Foam ink for a tone-on-tone look. For the shakers I cut the fish from Calypso Coral twice and Silver Foil one time and added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter for some sparkle. The Classic Label punch is just the right size for the greeting, with the stamped one in Whisper White and a Balmy Blue one cut in half so it can be a bigger label.

Make this cool ombre effect with your sponge brayers! Start with Soft Sea Foam ink at the top and roll it over halfway down some Whisper White cardstock, then roll Balmy Blue ink on the bottom and lightly over some of the green to blend the colors. I used the negative of the fish die cut to sponge on the fish. Use a couple of post-it notes to keep it in place and cover the rest of the card as you sponge! You have to push the sponge pretty hard to get a full fish image instead of a bunch of blue blobs, haha. The Sahara Sand cardstock is torn to look like rocks for the coral to grow on, and I looked up nautical knots on Pinterest to find the one I liked.
